So, I've been posting some writing on the internet again. It isn't much, but it's more than I was posting. The Changing Mirror has quite a number of interactive story threads, one of which is titled "That Which We Hate". The premise is that there is an apartment complex and people who move into it find themselves changing into something they despise. I've posted to the thread many times over the years. I'd forgot all about it until Anonymous51 reminded me about it in a comment to this blog earlier this month.
I've been having a lot of fun adding threads over the last couple of weeks and it feels good to be posting online once again.
Here are some links to the threads that Anonymous51 and I have been working on. Since these threads have multiple branches I'm linking the earliest post after the last branch. You'll have to work backward to get to the start of the story.
A recent law school grad gets into metal and starts taking others down with her.
The same law school grad undergoes a sex change
The law grad gains an ankh that grants wishes
Same girl as above. She becomes her boss's mistress
A 22 year old man starts turning into a middle aged divorcee
Four men in their twenties start transforming into a family of four
A pastor and his wife become sexier versions of themselves
There's lots of other threads in That Which We Hate. They deal with all sorts of transformations. Check it out if you have the time. Add to one or more of the threads if you're so inspired.

DeleteThat might take you a while. There are literally thousands of episodes that I've added to those sites (all together), over the course of about 15 years. Wow, has it really been that long? It doesn't feel like it.

ReplyDeleteI don't know how active it is, but it isn't quite dead. I just don't have anything to post right now. I've done some writing, but I've had a very hard time sticking to any one story. I have many that are fragments or in need of a lot of revision. I haven't been posting on TCMI for the last month. I don't know if I'll get back to that. I've started a new story today that I'm hoping I'll continue. It has promise and right now I'm excited about it. Problem is that my time to write has been sporadic over the last year and by the time I get back to writing there's something else I get excited about. Good news is that the thing that has been eating up my time has been exercise. I'm in better shape than I have been in a lot of years. So, even if I don't post stories as often, I might just live a little longer.
